Culinary Tips

Edible: leaves (raw/cooked), roots, flowers

Flameflower, commonly known as Javanese ginseng locally, is so named because of its medicinal properties in its roots that can be used as an alternative to Korean ginseng. Its leaves are edible raw and cooked, with a spinach-like aftertaste. Use like you would a spinach in stir-fries, soups and stews.
